WALTHAM, Mass. — Brandeis University junior midfielder Mathilde Robinson of Miami, Fla., has been named to the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Soccer All-Association first team. Teammates Sapir Edalati of Great Neck, N.Y. and Samantha Schwartz of Highland Park, Ill., both forwards, were second-team selections, while Judge defenders Emma Eddy of Hinesburg, Vt., and Haley Schachter of West Barnstable, Mass., and goalkeeper Alexis Grossman of Syosset, N.Y., were honorable mentions.

Robinson scored one goal and one assist for three points this season, but she was the team's top two-way player in the middle. "Mathilde was tenacious on and off the ball for us this season," said head coach Denise Dallamora. "She was a tremendous playmaker and incredibly dominant in the air."

Edalati, a senior, and Schwartz, a freshman, were two of the top offensive players in the UAA this season. They tied for the team lead and third place in the UAA with nine goals each. Edalati also tied for third in the circuit with seven assists to finish second in the league with 25 points. She earned three-straight UAA Player of the Week honors during the season and scored five game-winning goals in a six-match stretch, including Oct. 5 against UAA foe Case Western Reserve. Edalati has 68 career points, ranking 10th on Brandeis's career list, while her 27 goals are 11th.

Schwartz finished the regular season tops among UAA rookies with nine goals and 20 points. Her five game-winning goals were tied with Edalati for most in the UAA this season. She had one in a 1-0 upset win at Washington University on Oct. 31, and added a key tying goal in a 1-1 draw with Emory on Oct. 19.

Eddy, Grossman and Schachter were key components in a record-setting defense for the Judges. Brandeis allowed just nine goals in 18 contests, fewest in program history. Grossman teamed with senior Michelle Savuto of Ridgewood, N.J., to record 11 shutouts this season. They combined for a 0.49 goals-against average. Grossman, who played the second half and overtimes for the Judges, led the league with a 0.24 GAA and .909 save percentage, allowing just two goals on 22 shots on net. This is the second All-UAA honorable mention for both Eddy (2012) and Schachter (2013).

The Brandeis women's soccer team finished the 2014 regular season with a 12-4-2 record, 2-3-2 and sixth place in the UAA in head coach Denise Dallamora's 35th season. They helped Dallamora become the 14th coach in Division III Women's Soccer history to win 300 career games earlier this season, and had a school-record 11-match winning streak early in the season, rising to No. 20 in the nation.. The Judges were one of six conference squads selected to the NCAA Division III tournament, making their third appearance in the last five years. Brandeis will open the tournament on Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. when they take on Penn State-Behrend at Misericordia University in Dallas, Pa.
