Waltham, Mass. - The No. 10 NSCAA/ No. 11 D3Soccer.com Brandeis University women's soccer team saw its winning streak of nine games come to an end, but remains unbeaten following an 0-0 tie in double overtime against Wellesley College tonight.

The Judges, 9-0-1, would record their best start in school history through 11 games with a win this Saturday against conference rival Carnegie Mellon University.

Brandeis was the more assertive team in tonight's contest, finishing with a 32-9 advantage over the Blue in shots, including 19-0 in shots on goal.

Senior Holly Szafran (Homewood, Ala. / Newton North) fired a pair of strikes from the edge of the box in the first overtime, but both shots landed straight into the hands of Wellesley goalkeeper Kat Goldsmith, as was typical of most of the Judges' tries this evening.

Goldsmith finished with a season-high 19 saves, including a critical stop on a bullet from senior Melissa Darling (Weymouth, Mass./ Weymouth) in the 106th minute.

Szafran led Brandeis with six shots, and sophomore Samantha Schwartz (Highland Park, Ill./ Highland Park) had the most shots on goal with four.

Both teams return to action Saturday as the Blue return home to face same-conference Wheaton at 12 p.m., while the Judges will  host fellow UAA member Carnegie Mellon Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
