PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Brandeis University women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to 11 games today with a 2-0 victory at Carnegie Mellon in the University Athletic Association opener for both teams today. With the win, Brandeis (#10 in Division III in the NSCAA poll, #13 in D3Soccer.com) improves to 10-0-1, the best 11-game start in the 34-year history of the program under head coach Denise Dallamora. CMU (#24 in NSCAA poll) falls to 6-3-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Judges got the game-winning goal just 87 seconds into the contest.
- Senior Cidney Moscovitch (Coral Springs, Fla./Coral Glades) intercepted a poor clearing attempt by Carnegie Mellon goalkeeper Mia Keyser. With Keyser well off her line, Moscovitch shot high and out the ball under the crossbar for her fourth goal of the season.
- Moscovitch was also involved in Brandeis's insurance goal in the 53rd minute.
- Moscovitch's initial shot was saved by Keyser, but classmate Lea McDaniel (Phoenix, Arizona/Chaparral) was there to poke home the rebound for her team-and UAA-leading 10th goal of the season.
