PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Brandeis University women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to 11 games today with a 2-0 victory at Carnegie Mellon in the University Athletic Association opener for both teams today. With the win, Brandeis (#10 in Division III in the NSCAA poll, #13 in D3Soccer.com) improves to 10-0-1, the best 11-game start in the 34-year history of the program under head coach Denise Dallamora. CMU (#24 in NSCAA poll) falls to 6-3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Judges got the game-winning goal just 87 seconds into the contest.
• Senior Cidney Moscovitch (Coral Springs, Fla./Coral Glades) intercepted a poor clearing attempt by Carnegie Mellon goalkeeper Mia Keyser. With Keyser well off her line, Moscovitch shot high and out the ball under the crossbar for her fourth goal of the season.
• Moscovitch was also involved in Brandeis's insurance goal in the 53^rd minute.
• Moscovitch's initial shot was saved by Keyser, but classmate Lea McDaniel (Phoenix, Arizona/Chaparral) was there to poke home the rebound for her team-and UAA-leading 10^th goal of the season.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Brandeis outshot Carnegie Mellon, 9-5, for the game, including 5-1 in the first half. The Tartans evened things up, 4-4, in the second half.
• The hosts had seven corners to three for Brandeis.
• Judge senior Alexis Grossman (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) made five saves to earn her sixth shutout of the season.
• Brandeis also cleared a ball off the line in the 35^th minute to preserve the tie.
• Keyser had three stops in the losing effort.

JUDGES HISTORY

• Brandeis had two previous teams enter their 11^th game unbeaten. Last year's squad was 9-0-1 before dropping a 1-0 decision at home to Carnegie Mellon.
• The 1985 team was 10-0 before falling to Stonehill, 3-2.
• The 11-game unbeaten streak is the best since winning 12 in a row in 2014.
• The win was Brandeis's first over the Tartans since 2010 and their first in Pittsburgh since 2007
• With her fourth game-winner of the season and the 10th of her career (of 14 total goals), Moscovitch is tied for fourth place on Brandeis's career game-winning-goal list.
• McDaniel becomes the 19^th player in school history to reach 10 goals in a season.
• Grossman moves into sole possession of fifth place on the career wins list with 26 and, with her 17^th shutout, moves one shy of the career top three.
