WALTHAM, Mass. - The No. 8 ranked women's soccer team continued its best start in school history, routing Case Western Reserve University, 4-0. The Judges improve to 12-0-1 while dropping the Spartans to 5-4-3.

Four players scored for the Judges, all in the first half. Junior Haliana Burhans (Charlotte, Vt./Champlain Valley Union) opened the scoring five minutes into the game with a flick in from near the goal line, double-assisted by senior Cidney Moscovitch (Coral Springs, Fla./Coral Glades) and junior  Samantha Schwartz (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park).

The Judge's second goal came from Moscovitch, who bounced a header into the left corner off a cross from senior Jessica Morana (Shrewsbury, Mass./ Shrewsbury) at 13:02. It was her fifth goal of the year.

Brandeis expanded their lead at 28:02 on a free kick by senior Michaela Friedman (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Comsewogue) that bounced through the defense. Less than two minutes later, sophomore Sasha Sunday (Bethlehem, Pa./ Allentown Central Catholic) followed with a strike that slipped through the hands of the goalkeeper.

The Judges outshot their opponents, 12-4, with nine shots on goal compared to the Spartans' three.

Judges' starting keeper Alexis Grossman (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) had three saves. Spartans' counterpart Sarah Newcomb had five stops behind the net.

Brandeis will put its undefeated record on the line again next Friday, October 14 at University of Chicago.
