ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Brandeis University senior goalkeeper Alexis Grossman (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) stood on her head, making a school-record 15 saves, but it wasn't enough as the eighth-ranked Judges dropped a 2-0 decision at #15/23 Washington University in University Athletic Association action today. The loss, Brandeis's second in a row after a 13-match unbeaten streak, drops their record to 12-2-1, 2-2 UAA. The Bears improve to 10-2-2, 2-1-1 UAA.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• WashU opened the scoring in the 15^th minute, when Darcy Cunningham's shot was deflected to Mia Mastroianni, who knocked it home for her first of the season.
• The Bears got some breathing room in the 66^th minute, when Gillian Myers crossed to Megan Renken, who went upper right corner for her third of the campaign.

GROSSMAN'S PERFORMANCE

• Washington peppered 31 shots against the Judges while facing just three.
• Grossman made five saves in the first half, then an eye-popping 10 more in the second half.
• Her previous season-and career- high was eight saves in the 2016 season opener against MIT.
• The Judges have had just seven games with 10 or more saves since 2004.
• The previous single-match record was 13 saves by Michelle Savuto '15 against Emory in 2013. 
• Brandeis also had one team save, clearing a shot off the line in the 49^th minute.
