ATLANTA, Ga. – The Brandeis University women's soccer team saw its 12-match unbeaten streak snapped today as the Judges dropped a 3-0 decision at Emory. The Judges, ranked No. 16 nationally in Division III by D3soccer.com and No. 22 by the United Soccer Coaches, suffered their first loss since opening day and fall to 10-2-2, 2-1-1 in the University Athletic Association. Emory, ranked No. 24 by D3soccer.com, improves to 8-4-1, 1-2-1 UAA.

Though Emory controlled play in the first half, outshooting Brandeis 13-3, Judge sophomore Sierra Dana (Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East) kept her side in the game with six saves. Unfortunately for Brandeis, Dana was involved in a collision late in the first half. Though she returned to the pitch after halftime, she was replaced after just 1:43. With the only other goalkeeper on the roster already out with an injury, junior forward Minjee Lee (New York, N.Y./Bronx H.S. of Science) stepped into the emergency keeper role. The Eagles were able to take advantage of the inexperience in net, scoring goals in the 54th, 61st and 82nd minutes to hand the Judges their first defeat since Sept. 1. Lee was credited with three saves in her relief appearance.

Brandeis will step out of conference for its next two games, with a home game against Westfield State on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. and a road contest at Elms next Sunday at 1 p.m.
