WALTHAM, Mass – At the 2022 Homecoming game, the Brandeis University women's soccer team lost to Carnegie Mellon University 1-0 in a University Athletic Association contest on Gordon Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The game was a defensive battle, with only six shots on goal being taken all game.
• The Tartans broke the tie in the 29th minute with a goal from Catherine MacNichol.
• In the first half, the Tartans led in shots taken 5-3 and there was a tie in corner kicks 3-3.
• In the second half, the Tartans played more offensively, taking seven shots to Brandeis' two.
• The Judges did not have many chances in the second half to tie the game up as the Tartans tightened up defensively.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Carnegie Mellon finished with a 12-5 advantage in shots taken and a 6-0 advantage in shots on goal.
• Carnegie Mellon also held the advantage in corner kicks 5-4.
• Sophomore Keeper Hannah Bassan (Aventura, Fla. / NSU University School) saved five shots in the match.
