NORTON, Mass. -- The Brandeis women's tennis team moved up two spots in the ITA Division III poll earlier in the day, and the 22nd-ranked Judges rolled over Wheaton College, 7-2, in their first match at that ranking. Brandeis improves to 7-8 on the season, while the Lyons fall to 12-4.

The Judges got off to a quick start in doubles action. They won by an 8-6 margin in both of the top spots, while juniors Dylan Schlesinger (Miami, Fla./Miami Palmetto) and Simone Vandroff (Moss Beach, Calif./Half Moon Bay) rolled in the third spot, 8-1.

In singles action, senior Alexa Katz (Philadelphia, Pa./Abington Friends) wasted little time in securing the Judges' fourth point, winning all 12 games in the sixth position, 6-0, 6-0. The Judges finalized victory with straight-set wins at No. 1, where junior All-American Carley Cooke (San Diego, Calif./Point Loma) won, 6-1, 6-4, and at No. 4, where sophomore Emily Eska (Princeton, Mass./Wachusett Regional) was a 6-3, 6-3, winner. Vandroff joined Cooke as a double-winner with a 6-2, 7-5, win at fifth singles.

Brandeis is scheduled to meet cross-town rival Bentley University tomorrow at 3 p.m.
