#18 women's tennis dominates Babson, 6-0

The Brandeis women's tennis team ranked #18 defeated visiting Babson in dominating fashion, 6-0. With the win, the Judges improve to 6-4, while the Beavers fall to 4-4.

In doubles play, the Judges were able to take control at No. 1 as senior Olivia Leavitt (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) and sophomore Lauren Bertsch (Middletown, R.I./LaSalle Academy) claimed an 8-4 victory. At No. 2 it was junior Diana Dehterevich (Minsk, Belarus / Secondary School #185 of Minsk) and senior Keren Khromchenko (Manalapan, N.J./Academy of Allied Health and Sciences) earned an 8-6 win. The duo of rookie Ana Hatfield (Rockford, Ill. / Boylan Central Catholic) and senior Sophia He (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Spackenkill) completed the sweep at No. 3 with an 8-6 victory.

In singles action, junior Leavitt got things going at No. 2 holding her opponent at love for a 6-0, 6-0, victory. Senior Khromchenko earned a 7-5, 6-2, victory at No. 3, while junior Dehterevich closed things out at No. 1 with a three-set victory, 6-7 (1-7), 6-3, 6-4. Sophomore Bertsch match was left unfinished at, 6-2, 5-4. The final two matches were not started since the match had already been decided, the Judges finishing on top.

The Judges are back in action next Friday at home against Wellesley College at 3:00 p.m.
