Ben Nun wins UAA Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors, Jan. 20

WALTHAM, Mass. - Brandeis University senior Anat Ben Nun of Haifa, Israel, has earned University Athletic Association (UAA) Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors for Jan. 20.

Ben Nun  earned the award after provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships in the triple jump in a meet at Bowdoin College on Jan. 18. Benun's winning leap of 11.66 meters (38 feet, 3¼ inches) was just 3½ inches short of an automatic qualifying mark and was the second-best performance in Division III this season. Benun was competing in her first meet in more than a year after missing her junior season due to injury. She is a two-time All-American in the triple jump, having finished third in the nation as a rookie and second as a sophomore.

Ben Nun is a graduate of Ironi-Hey. She is the daughter of Jonathan and Hana Benun, Haifa, Israel.
