Pisarik just misses All-America honors in 1,500

MARIETTA, Ohio -- Brandeis University junior Beth Pisarik (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) just missed her first career All-America honor today, finishing ninth in the finals of the 1,500-meter run at the 2009 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Marietta College today.

Pisarik turned in a finals time of 4:39.36. She finished six seconds behind Lauren Reich of DePauw for eighth place, but three seconds ahead of University Athletic Association rival Molly Schlamb of Washington University. Pisarik finished five spots ahead of her 14th seed headed into the championship meet and improved three spots from the preliminaries, when she was the 12th and final competitor to reach the finals with a time of 4:38.27.
