Warwick hopes for third NCAA bid of 2011-12, Farrington fifth in UAA in triple jump

WALTHAM, Mass. -- The Brandeis women's track and field team has had one nationally-ranked performance this season, from a previous NCAA qualifier. Senior Kate Warwick (Boxborough, Mass./Acton-Boxborough Regional) placed sixth in the 1,500-meter run during a quad meet at Dartmouth with Vermont and Middlebury on April 14 with a time of 4:43.37. She was second among Division III runners at the meet and is currently 45th in Division III and seventh in the UAA. Warwick finished 12th in the 5,000-meter run at the 2012 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field championships and 48th at the DIII Cross Country championship meet.

The Brandeis women's highest-ranked UAA performance this season was turned in by junior Kim Farrington (Shirley, Mass./Ayer). Farrington is fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 10.74 meters (35-3), established at the Dartmouth quad meet, where she was fifth behind four Big Green competitors. Also in the top 10 are senior Lily Parenteau (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough), who is eighth in the high jump at 5 feet, 1 inch (1.55 meters); rookie Alyssa Fenenbock (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional) in the javelin, ranked ninth with a throw of 30.66 meters (100-7); and junior Brittany Bell (Setauket, N.Y./Hotchkiss School), whose 5.08 meter (16-8) long jump is rated 10th
