
NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- The sixth-seeded Brandeis volleyball team
dropped its first-round match at the Hall of Fame Invitational
today, falling to third-seeded Wellesley, 3-0. Set scores were
25-22, 25-15, 25-17.
The Judges (13-10) dropped their second match of the season
against Wellesley despite a match-high 10 kills from senior outside
hitter Lorraine Wingenbach (Buffalo, N.Y.).
Sophomore outside hitter Paige Blasco (Greeley,
Colo.) led the way defensively with 12 digs along with seven kills,
while sister Abby, the team's setter, had 22
assists and 10 digs.
The Judges will face seventh seed Bowdoin tomorrow morning and
then either Williams or host Smith College in the afternoon.
