WALTHAM, Mass. -- The Brandeis University volleyball played host the second University Athletic Association Round Robin of 2016 this season. The Judges dropped a three-set match against #5-ranked Emory in their opener, then took a set but ultimately fell to NYU in their final regular-season conference match. The Judges now stand at 7-14 overall, 0-7 in the UAA.

VS EMORY (7-25, 15-25, 14-25)

• The fifth-ranked Eagles, coming off a defeat the night before, proved to be hard for the Judges to handle. Emory hit at a .472 clip, making just three errors with 37 kills in 72 attempts.
• Brandeis sophomore OH Grace Krumpack (Cincinnati, Ohio/Colraine) tied for match-high honors with Emory's Karissa Dzurik with eight kills.
• Sophomore Shea Decker-Jacoby (Los Angeles, Calif./Marymount) added five kills, but the Eagles had two other players with seven and another with five.
• Sophomore setter Marlee Nork (Chicago, Ill./Walter Payton College Prep) had 15 assists to pace the attack.
• Classmate libero Yvette Cho (San Diego, Calif./Rancho Bernardo) had 12 digs to lead all players.

VS NYU (21-25, 16-25, 25-23 )

• In the first set, the Judges battled back from 18-14 down to take a 21-20 lead, but the Violets rallied to win the last five point. Grace Krumpack, Shea Decker Jacoby and senior Jessica Kaufman (Tucson, Ariz./Cienaga) had two kills apiece in the opening set.
• NYU opened the second set on a 4-1 run and never trailed again. After Brandeis closed within 5-4, the visitors use a 7-1 run to go ahead 12-5 and never looked back.
• The Judges bounced back to claim the third set, building an early lead at 9-5. A 5-0 run on the serve of Krumpack gave Brandeis a comfortable 19-11 lead.
• The squads traded points before NYU went on a run to get within 20-19, but a Decker-Jacoby kill stopped the momentum.
• Brandeis was within set point at 24-20 before back-to-back kills by the Violets' Caroline Rapp made it a one-point game again at 24-23. A tough set by NYU ultimately gave the Judges their first set of the weekend.
• In the fourth set, neither team was able to establish a lead larger than two points for much of the early going.
• With the score tied at 18-all, the Violets went on a decisive 4-0 run, highlighted by a triple block that made it 22-18. Brandeis scored three of the next four points to get back within 23-21, but kills by Annie Singh and Gretchen Cash closed it out for the visitors.
• Brandeis's Krumpack tied for match-high honors with 13 kills with NYU's Rapp and Cash. Decker-Jacoby added nine kills for the home team.
• Krumpack also added two service aces.
• Nork finished with 38 assists, four shy of her career-best.
• Cho had 20 digs, reaching the plateau for the fifth time this season and 10^th in her career. It was a match-high total, but NYU had five different players with 10-plus digs, led by Grace Napolitano.
• NYU was tough up front defensively as well, with nine total blocks – Cash, Kelsey Kraetz and Rayne Ellis each had one solo and three block assists.
