Brandeis All-UAA Volleyball Selections
Honorable Mention Kaitlyn Oh
Second Team Emma Bartlett
Honorable Mention Marissa Borgert

WALTHAM, Mass. – Three members of the Brandeis University volleyball team have earned All-University Athletic Association honors for the 2019 season. Senior middle hitter Emma Bartlett of Duxbury, Massachusetts, was a second-team All-UAA selection for the second year in a row, while sophomore libero Kaitlyn Oh of Santa Clara, California, and junior setter/outside hitter Marissa Borgert of Blaine, Minnesota, were both honorable mentions.

Bartlett is Brandeis's first two-time All-UAA selection since 2010. She is the first to land twice on the second team since 2008. Bartlett played in all 27 matches this season and led the team with 2.88 kills per set, ranking 10th in the UAA. Her 88 kills in UAA play were second-most, while her 3.14 kills-per-set average in conference play was fourth overall. Bartlett also averaged a team-high 0.89 blocks per set, ranking fifth in the conference with the 10th-highest single-season average in program history. Along with 28 service aces, Barlett scored 364 points for the Judges, sixth-most in the UAA, while her 3.7 points per set were third. She also led the league with 107 points in UAA matches, ranking third with 3.8 points per set. Bartlett graduates sixth on Brandeis's career blocks list with 303 and 10th on the career kills list with 987.

Oh, who missed time at the start and the end of the season and played in 17 of 27 matches, finished 13th in the UAA with 294 digs, but was third with 4.90 digs per set. In conference play, she was the premier defensive player, finishing with 153 digs and 5.46 digs per set in league matches. Oh reached double figures in digs in all but two matches, including a career-high 48 in a five-set loss to Case Western Reserve. Her 4.90 digs per set is the second-highest single-season average in Brandeis team history. Oh was also involved in one of the team's highlights, making the ESPN SportsCenter Top 10 for an amazing play against WPI in which she kicked a ball back to the opponents' side of the net as they were celebrating a point they thought they had won.

Borgert started 24 of 27 matches this season and quarterbacked the Judges with 617 assists, sixth in the conference. Her 7.09 assists per set ranked fourth in the league. She also ranked fourth in both categories in UAA play with 209 assists and a 7.46 assist-per-set average. Borgert also led the team with 34 service aces, 11th in the league, and in service-aces-per-set, ranking 6th. Borgert registered four double-doubles this season, including a career-high 17 digs in a 3-1 loss to Bates on Sept. 13.

Brandeis (4-23, 1-6 UAA) finished the 2019 campaign in eighth place in the University Athletic Association, as a string of injuries left them shorthanded from last season's fifth-place squad. The Judges will return all of their roster except for Bartlett in 2020.

Bartlett is 2016 graduate of Duxbury High School.

Oh is a 2018 graduate of Cupertino High School.

Borgert is a 2017 graduate of Spring Lake Park High School.
