
BEVERLY, Mass. – The Brandeis University volleyball team lost a pair of contests hosted at Endicott College. Brandeis lost both matches 3-1 against Endicott (25-21, 18-25, 25-23, 25-22) and Babson (25-18, 12-25, 25-17, 25-18).

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Judges played the Gulls closely in all sets, losing by a combined seven points across the three sets.
• The Judges won the 2nd set after winning eight points in a stretch of 11 points to take a 22-16 lead.
• The Judges also had the lead 23-22 in the 3rd set before Endicott rattled off three points to win the set.
• Against the Beavers, the Judges made a run at the end of the 1st set to tighten it up to a 22-18 score.
• In the 2nd, the Judges pulled away, taking an 0-2 score early to win the set 25-12.
• Brandeis had a good chance to win the 3rd set when they were up 16-14, but Babson won 10 straight points before taking the set 25-17.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORES
• In the opener, the Judges got a match- and career-high 24-kill performance from sophomore Lara Verstovsek (Houston, Texas / Episcopal) and a 10-kill performance from graduate student Sydney Bent (Raleigh, N.C. / Ransom Everglades School).
• Bent also had the team-high in digs in the match with 20, followed by a tie between Verstovsek and senior Stephanie Borr (Westfield, N.J. / Westfield) with 15.
• Junior Ines Grom-Mansencal (Cincinnati, Ohio / Wyoming) led the team in assists with 35.
• In the second match, Verstovsek led the team in kills again with 12, while Borr led the team in digs with 12.
• Grom-Mansencal had another great outing, finishing the match with 31 assists.
