Derek Jenesky joined the Brandeis University athletic department in the winter of 2018 as the club sports coordinator. In that role, he oversees Brandeis’s 20-plus competitive and instructional club athletic teams, including oversight of all policy development and implementation, risk and budget management, travel arrangements and equipment needs. He serves as the primary advisor to Brandeis’s Club Sports Council and also serves as game-day event manager for soccer, baseball and softball.

Derek came to Brandeis after 16 years at Stonehill College, where he served as an assistant director of athletics for recreation. At Stonehill, he was responsible for oversight of SC’s 110,000-square-foot multipurpose recreational facility, including scheduling, budgeting, staffing and oversight of 11 club sports. He was also in charge of Stonehill’s intramural, recreation, fitness, wellness and instructional programs.

Derek served on the college’s planning committee for the $18 million renovation of their sports complex and initiated and served on the campus’s wellness committees.

Derek is also an accomplished rugby coach, having led the men’s and women’s programs at Stonehill and at Wheaton College.

Derek is a 1995 graduate of Western New England University with a B.A. in communications.
