Men’s fencing edges Brown, 14-13 and BC, 15-12, to clinch NFC title

The Brandeis men's fencing team used dramatic finishes in their final two matches to complete an undefeated run in the Northeast Fencing Conference to win the men's title outright. After edging Vassar, 15-12, to open the day, the Judges had a pair of easy club matches before a bye round. They took on host Brown University in their fourth match, and the teams split 7-2 decisions in foil (to Brandeis) and epee (to Brown). Brandeis trailed the saber match, 3-1 and 4-3 before Kyle Berney '18 and Curtis Wilson '18 earned 5-2 wins in their final matches for the 14-13 win. Brandeis and BC were both 9-0 entering the final match of the day, and again the Judges won foil 7-2 and dropped epee by the same score, but a 6-3 win on saber proved the difference as the Judges completed the unbeaten NFC campaign.
