WALTHAM, Mass. – The Brandeis swim and dive teams celebrated Senior Day on Saturday against Clark University. The Judges won both meets on the day. The men won 153-89, while the women won 131-112.
On the men's side, seniors James Smith (Lexington, Mass. / Lexington High School) and Benton Ferebee (Memphis, Tenn. / Memphis University School). Smith won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 53.28. Ferebee won the 50- and 100-yard backstroke events. He finished with a time of 24.29 in the 50 and 53.98 in the 100s. Smith and Ferebee also teamed up with senior Josh Liu (New Hyde Park, N.Y. / Great Neck South) and junior Leone Kisler (Framingham, Mass. / Framingham) for the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay. They took first place in both events. The medley relay finished with a time of 1:39.60, while the freestyle relay finished with a time of 1:31.33.
On the women's side, the top performer of the day was senior Bailey Gold (Berkeley Heights, N.J. / Governor Livingston). Gold won both the 50- and 100-yard butterfly races. She finished with a time of 59.84 in the 100 and 27.41 in the 50. Gold also teamed up with seniors Becky Goodfellow (Lakeville, Mass. / Apponequet Regional), Aria Smith (Elkridge, MD / St. Timothy's School), and sophomore Chloe Gonzalez (Miami Beach, Fla. / Miami Beach Senior High School) to win the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:49.33.
