• Selig earns second All-America honor, finishes fourth in 1,500-meters at NCAA Outdoor championships

    Junior Grayce Selig captured her second All-America honor of the 2009-10 year on the last day of competition at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. She lowered her school record for the fifth time this season in the 1,500-meter run, placing fourth at Baldwin Wallace College. Senior Suzanne Bernier missed out on All-America honors with an 11th-place showing in the high jump.

    The Brandeis women's distance medley relay team of senior Beth Pisarik, rookie Anifreed Sinjour, junior Emily Owen and junior Grayce Selig earned All-American honors tonight, finishing in third place at the NCAA Division III Championships tat DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. Senior Suzanne Bernier placed 13th in the high jump.

    Brandeis junior Grayce Selig and senior Beth Pisarik earned All-UAA honors today in the mile run. They were two of seven All-UAA performances for the Brandeis men and women. The University of Chicago captured the women's team crown.

The men's distance medley relay won the team's lone gold on the day, while the women's DMR, along with juniors Paul Norton (5K) and Lucia Capano (long jump) all earned silvers.

    Junior Grayce Selig improved on a pair of NCAA qualifying times at the 2010 Boston University Valientine's Classic on Feb. 12 and 13. She is now ranked in the top five nationally in Division III with the first sub-five-minute mile in Brandeis women's history, while she and three others are third nationally in the DMR.

    Junior Lucia Capano and sophomore Tyrone Hughes were selected as University Athletic Association Athletes of the Week for Jan. 19. Capano was selected for the second time this season for indoor track as she qualified for the NCAA championships in the triple jump. Hughes was honored for the first time for his role a 3-0 week for the #15 men's basketball team.

    Junior Lucia Capano had three wins and was part of a second-place relay, while senior Suzanne Bernier set a school-record in the high jump today as the Brandeis women's track and field team won the 2010 Reggie Poyau Memorial Invitational. Both women earned NCAA provisional qualifying marks on the day. The Brandeis men finished fourth of seven squads.
