May 02, 2009The Brandeis baseball senior class saw their final season come to a tough end, falling twice to the Suffolk University Rams, 10-2 and 11-1. The first contest was tight through the first six innings, with Brandeis leading 2-1 until a three-run Ram fifth, while six in the seventh put the game out of reach. -
Nine-run inning not enough as Judges fall to Wheaton, 12-9
May 01, 2009Senior James Collins had a valiant effort in his final collegiate game, and the Judges put up their biggest inning of the season with a nine-run fourth, but visiting Wheaton won the battle of the bullpens, taking a 12-9 decision under the lights at Stein Diamond. -
Late rally sinks baseball against Bowdoin, 6-5
April 29, 2009Sophomore Pat Nicholson tossed his team-leading fourth complete game of the season and rookie LF Jon Chu hit a go-ahead double in the top of the eighth inning, but host Bowdoin rallied with two in the bottom of the ninth to take a 6-5 non-conference baseball win in Brunswick, Maine. -
Baseball bounces back with 9-6 win over Amherst
April 27, 2009In the midst of a four-game stretch against NESCAC opponents, the Brandeis baseball team bounced back from a pair of losses to Trinity to knock off Amherst College, 9-6. Rookie CF Sean O'Hare led the way, going 3-5 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored. Senior David Packard earned the win with five strong innings and sophomore Nick Pollack threw three perfect innings for his first save. -
Baseball drops DH to #6 Trinity, 10-4 and 13-3
April 26, 2009The Brandeis University baseball team lost both ends of a doubleheader to #6 Trinity College (Conn.). The Judges had a 4-2 advantage going into the sixth inning of the first game before giving the game up and losing 10-4. In the second game, the Bantams scored eight runs in the top of the fifth to go on to win, 13-3. -
Brzozowski fans career-high 10 as Judges blank Endicott, 4-0
April 24, 2009Junior Drew Brzozowski struck out a career-high 10 Endicott College batters, throwing 8.1 innings of three-hit ball as the Judges blanked the Gulls, 4-0, on Stein Diamond today. Brzozowski retired the side in order in five of the eight innings he completed to improve to 5-1. -
Nicholson, heart of the lineup, lead Brandeis past UMass-Boston, 9-2
April 23, 2009Sophomore righty Pat Nicholson tossed his team-leading third complete game of the season and the Judges' 4-5-6 hitters combined to go 9-for-13 with a home run, three RBI and five runs scored to defeat the visiting UMass-Boston Beacons, 9-2, on Stein Diamond today. -
Brandeis schedule changes, April 22
April 22, 2009Because of inclement weather, the Brandeis-Amherst baseball game scheduled for April 21 at 3:30 p.m. has been postponed. It will be made up on Monday, April 27 at 4 p.m. Additionally, the game scheduled for April 23 at Roger Williams University has been cancelled so that RWU can make up a conference game. There is no make-up date scheduled. -
Livada named UAA baseball player of the week
April 21, 2009WALTHAM, Mass. Brandeis University junior DH Drake Livada of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, was selected as University Athletic Associations baseball Player of the Week for the second time in his career. He has helped the Judges get to an overall record 13-19 with 10 games remaining this season. -
Livada leads baseball team in split with Babson
April 18, 2009Junior Drake Livada had six hits, including three doubles and a home run as the Brandeis baseball team split with Babson College. The Judges took the opener, 5-4, before the Beavers rallied for an 8-7 win in nine in game two. -
Brzozowski gets baseball back on track with 9-2 win over Salem State
April 17, 2009Junior hurler Drew Brzozowski allowed just three hits over the first seven innings of work and tied his career-high with eight strikeouts as the Judges got back on the right track with a 9-2 win over Salem State today. John O'Brion led the offensive attack, going 3-3 with two RBI, two runs scored and a double. -

April 07, 2009Despite the second home run in as many games by junior Drake Livada and a fine job of pitching out of trouble by sophomore Pat Nicholson, the Brandeis baseball team could not muster much offense in a 4-1 loss to rival Tufts in the 84th meeting between the two schools. -

April 05, 2009Though the Judges pounded out 14 hits and three home runs, visiting Keene State had 20 hits and three round-trippers of their own in earning a 17-8 win on Stein Diamond. Tony Deshler, Pat Nicholson and Drake Livada - as a pinch hitter - each went deep for Brandeis. -
Judges split slugfests with Clark
April 04, 2009The Brandeis baseball team put up 20 runs in two games, but were only able to salvage a split with the Clark University Cougars. The Judges took the opener, 13-6, but fell in game two, 10-7. Sophomore Tony Deshler and junior Jon O'Brion each went deep on the day. -

The Lyons, who are averaging 15 runs in their past three games, snapped a three-game Judge winning streak. -
Brandeis baseball get two wins in doubleheader against Springfield
March 28, 2009WALTHAM, Mass. The Brandeis University baseball team broke past the .500 mark with two wins in Saturdays afternoon doubleheader against Springfield College. The Judges won the first game, 6-2, and followed it up with a 5-3 victory over the Pride. With the two victories Brandeis improve to 10-9 on the year, while Springfield falls to 3-12. -

March 14, 2009Big innings ended the Brandeis baseball team's hopes of repeating as UAA champions, as Rochester put up four in the fourth en route to a 9-8 win and Emory tallied nine in the first to hand the Judges a 12-0 loss. Brandeis ends their southern swing with a 4-7 record, 2-4 in the UAA. -
