• Gorenkoff named third-team All-American

    Brandeis senior Melissa Gorenkoff was selected as a third-team All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. The Judges' all-time leader in assists is the fourth All-American in program history and the first since 1989. She was joined on the All-New England team by junior back Taryn Martiniello, a fourth-team selection.

    Senior goalkeeper Hillary Rosenzweig just missed matching her season-high with nine saves and recorded her seventh shutout of the season in the ECAC Championship match. Unfortunately, she was unable to duplicate her semifinal magic in the penalty kicks, as Keene State defeated the Judges, 4-2, on PKs to take the crown.
  • Women's soccer headed to ECAC finals after defeating MCLA, 3-1, on PKs

    After a wild 3-3 tie after the first 90 minutes of regulation in a downpour, the Brandeis women's soccer team defeated MCLA, 3-1, on penalty kicks to advance to the finals of their third-straight ECAC tournament. Senior goalkeeper Hillary Rosenzweig was huge on the PKs, stopping the first two Trailblazer shooters.

    Seniors Melissa Gorenkoff and Hillary Rosenzweig were named to the 2009 All-University Athletic Women's Soccer team, while five Judges - Ali Maresca, Taryn Martiniello, Tiffany Pacheco, Fran Shin and Mimi Theodore were all honorable mention All-UAA.
  • Women's soccer earns berth in ECAC semis with 3-0 win over Castleton State

    The top-seeded Brandeis women's soccer team had little problem with eighth-seeded Castleton State College tonight, defeating the Spartans, 3-0, in the opening round of the ECAC Division III New England tournament. Junior forward Tiffany Pacheco was the star, scoring two first-half goals.

    The Brandeis women's soccer team will try to hang on to its ECAC Division III New England Tournament crown for a third-straight season. The Judges, who earned the top seed for the second time, will play host to Castleton State College at 6 p.m. on Wednesday in the opening round.
  • Early second-half goal, clutch back line secures 1-0 win over NYU for women

    Mimi Theodore scored her team-leading ninth goal of the season just 65 seconds into the second half and the Judges were able to fend off a hard-charging NYU attack thanks to nice plays by sophomore backs Ali Maresca and Francesca Shin in a 1-0 victory over NYU.
  • Rosenzweig sets career victory and shutout records as Judges stun No. 16 Chicago, 2-0

    Senior netminder Hillary Rosenzweig made eight saves, one shy of her season-high, to lead the Judges to a 2-0 upset of the 16th-ranked University of Chicago Maroons in a UAA contest on Gordon Field today. With the win, Rosenzweig set Brandeis's career records with her 35th career victory and 20th career shutout.
  • Brandeis women fall to No. 9 WashU, 2-0

    The Brandeis women's soccer team drop its second-straight decision tonight, falling to Washington University, 2-0, in their first home game in three weeks. The Judges outshot the ninth-ranked Bears, 15-13, including five by Tiffany Pacheco, but were unable to find the back of the net.
  • Late OT goal sinks women's soccer at Bowdoin, 1-0

    Five minutes from their third scoreless draw of the season, the visiting Brandeis women's soccer team allowed a corner kick goal to host Bowdoin, and the Judges fell, 1-0, in their final non-conference game of the season. Senior Hillary Rosenzweig kept the Judges in the contest with a season-high nine saves.
  • Mimi Theodore nabs UAA Player of the Week honors

    Sophomore midfielder/forward Mimi Theodore became the second member of the Brandeis women's soccer team to earn 2009 UAA Player of the Week honors. Theodore scored three of the Judges' five goals in a 1-0-1 week against conference opponents.
  • Women's soccer earns first point in UAA play with 1-1 draw at CMU

    Sophomore midfielder Mimi Theodore got the Brandeis women's soccer team's first goal in UAA play at the 65:26 mark, but host Carnegie Mellon answered less than two minutes later and neither team was able to find the back of the net again as the Judges and Tartans battled to a 1-1 tie in Pittsburgh tonight.
  • Women's soccer falls to No. 23 Rochester, 1-0

    The Brandeis women's soccer team battled No. 23 Rochester, but the visiting Yellowjackets made an early goal stand up, handing the Judges a 1-0 loss in UAA action. Junior midfielder Sofia Vallone had a nice bid on second-half free kick.
  • Mimi Theodore leads Judges past Tufts, 2-0

    Sophomore midfielder/forward Mimi Theodore had her second career-game winning goal today as the Judges blanked Tufts, 2-0, on the road. She scored on a rebound in the 26th minute and added a late assist in the 85th minute. The win was Brandeis's first over the Jumbos since 2004.
  • Women's soccer suffers 1-0 loss at Case in UAA opener

    The Brandeis women's soccer team outshot host Case, 14-4, but the Spartans were the only team to find the back of the net. The Spartans scored just under 10 minutes into the second half and held on for the 1-0 win in the UAA opener for both teams.
  • Women's soccer stunned by Wellesley in OT, 2-1

    Junior Tiffany Pacheco scored her fifth goal of the season in the third minute and the Brandeis women outshot visiting Wellesley, 12-2, in the first half. Unfortunately, the Blue responded in the second half and tallied the game-winning goal just 15 seconds into overtime, handing the Judges a 2-1 loss under the lights.

    The Brandeis women's soccer team scored goals early and late today to pick up their first road victory of the season, 2-0, at Gordon College. Senior Melissa Gorenkoff and sophomore Mimi Theodore had the goals for the Judges.

    A trio of juniors, Tiffany Pacheco of women's soccer, Paul Norton of men's cross country and Rachel Rosman of women's tennis, have been selected as the first University Athletic Association athlete of the week selections from Brandeis for 2009-10.
  • Mimi Theodore hat trick leads Brandeis women past clark, 5-1

    Sophomore forward/midfielder Mimi Theodore recorded her first collegiate hat trick to lead the Brandeis women's soccer team past Clark, 5-1, today. Her twin sister Ali registered an assist on the game-winning goal as well.

    Senior netminder Hillary Rosenzweig moved into a tie for second place on Brandeis's career shutouts list with her 18th, but host Roger Williams was just as staunch on defense as the Judges and Hawks battled to a scoreless draw. It was the second scoreless game of the season for Brandeis.
  • Women's soccer blasts Bridgewater State, 6-0

    Tiffany Pacheco (2g, 1a) and Melissa Gorenkoff (1g, 2a) were each involved in three goals on the afternoon as the Judges defeated visiting Bridgewater State, 6-0. In the team's biggest win since 2005, Gorenkoff moved into a tie for second on the Judges' career assist list with 21.
  • Women's soccer duels No. 18 Springfield to 0-0 draw

    Senior goalkeeper recorded her 17th career shutout today, but the Judges couldn't answer on the other end as Brandeis and No. 18-ranked Springfield College finished with a 0-0 draw. Rosenzweig made four saves in the effort.
  • Women's soccer suffers first loss of season, 1-0, at Babson

    Senior netminder Hillary Rosenzweig tied the second-highest save total of her career with eight stops, but the host Babson College Beavers found the back of the net in the 71st minute to hand the Judges their first loss, 1-0. It was Brandeis's first road game of the season.
  • Pacheco leads Brandeis women past Nazareth, 3-1, with a goal and two assists

    Junior forward Tiffany Pacheco was involved in all three goals today as the Brandeis University women's soccer team defeated visiting Nazareth College, 3-1. Pacheco scored the team's first goal and added two second-half assists as the Judges improved to 2-0.
  • Women's soccer fends off MIT, 2-1, to open 2009 season

    The Brandeis University women's soccer team kicked off the Judges' 2009-10 athletic season with a hard-fought 2-1 win over rival MIT on Gordon Field tonight. Sophomore midfielder Alanna Torre scored the game-winning goal in the 61st minute.
